the more you plan, the more you use time wisely.

My takeaway from workshop The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity

We may all have heard that we need to focus on the important but not urgent tasks.
Putting knowing into action is often another story.

I am surprised to learn that how easy we postpone the regular activities (to move, sleep, eat, relax, and connect people, etc). They are all important but not urgent. Think about what we lose.

How about watching TV? This is the biggest debate during the workshop. Most people think it is a waste of time (not important and not urgent). But instructor rephrases the activity. Do you agree watching TV relaxes? Is to relax important? If so, watching TV seems to be important but not urgent. We have a conflict, don’t we?

After sorting the thought, the conclusion is do we have expectation out of trading our time. Are you relaxed after watching TV? The question clarifies whether the activity is important or waste of time.

Having expectation from using time evolves the idea of planning activities. Therefore, the more you plan, the more you use time wisely.
